Estate Planner Joins Boys Republic's Board of Directors

Timothy J. Kay, a partner in the Orange County office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, has joined Boys Republic's Board of Directors. Mr. Kay brings to Boys Republic an extensive background in estate planning and community service.

After graduating from the University of San Francisco in 1975 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology, he worked for the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service as a criminal investigator. His experience there led to an interest in law.

 

 

 

Mr. Kay entered law school in 1984, studying at Hastings College of the Law and then Stanford Law School. While at Stanford he served as a member and note editor of the Stanford Law Review. He received his Juris Doctorate with distinction from Stanford Law School in 1987.

That same year, he joined the law firm of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, where he practices as a member of the Tax Department. He specializes in the areas of estate planning, probate and trust administration and charitable giving.

Mr. Kay is also an active volunteer. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the United Way of Orange County and chaired the 1999-2000 county-wide annual campaign. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Orange County Council of the Boys Scouts of America and the Orange Coast Estate Planning Council.

His background in financial and legal matters, combined with extensive experience assisting non-profit organizations, positions him for a productive role upon Boys Republic's Board of Directors.

Mr. Kay lives in Irvine with Marianne, his wife of 24 years. They have one adult daughter.
