San Bernardino County Supervisor
Joins Boys Republic's Board
Released on: January 18, 2002
The primary governing body of Boys Republic
is a Board of Directors that is made up entirely of
volunteer citizens, elected from the ranks of Southern
California's leaders in business, professional and civic
life. In keeping with this tradition, the Board recently
elected San Bernardino County Supervisor Fred Aguiar
as one of its newest members.

Supervisor
Fred Aguiar
Mr. Aguiar was raised in the city of Chino,
where he continues to reside with his wife Patti. Prior
to his election to the San Bernardino County Board of
Supervisors, Mr. Aguiar served fourteen years in local
government. In 1992, he launched a successful campaign
to represent the 61st Assembly District in the California
State Legislature. Since 1998, he has served as a member
of the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors, and
in January 2001 was selected as its Chairman.
As a Chino resident and public servant,
Supervisor Aguiar has had a long association with Boys
Republic. His in-depth familiarity with local and State
government assure that he will be a tremendous asset
in the agency's work with troubled and disadvantaged
youth.
